Es hat aber seine Daseinsberechtigung, wenn man Strecke auf sehr ruppigen Gravel-Pisten oder Singletracks machen möchte und deshalb auf das Mehrgewicht am Rad pfeift.</p><p>Solche Stahlräder sind sicherlich eine Nische, weshalb es das Modell noch nicht in das feste Portfolio von Sour geschafft hat. Nicht so die Berliner von 8bar. Der Kronprinz kommt mit klassischen dünnen Rohren daher – ist allerdings ausschließlich mit Scheibenbremse (Flat-Mount) verfügbar. Die Gabel ist aus Carbon. Die Bowdenzüge sind außen verlegt (was ich persönlich sehr angenehm finde, da ich an meinen Rädern noch selbst schraube). Deshalb ist der Rahmen nur noch in Wunschfarbe verfügbar (da haben wir nichts dagegen). </p><p>Preislich ist der Rahmen inkl. Wunschlackierung bei 800 Euro inkl. 1170px" data-recalc-dims="1" /></figure><p>An diesen Tagen werden die Tore geöffnet, das Handwerk gefeiert und mehrere spannende neue Modelle vorgestellt. </p><p>Eines davon mit einem neuartigen 3D-Metalldruckverfahren der BASF aus Mannheim, die mit einem 3D-Drucker und einem ziemlich großen Exponat (36Zoll MTB) anwesend sein wird.</p><p>Selbstverständlich kann man am Samstag viele neue und alte Modelle gerne ausprobieren.</p><p>Auf Wunsch bei einer zweistündigen lockeren Gravel-Ausfahrt, an der auch Fahrrad-Podcasterin Johanna Jahnke (<a href="https://www.instagram.com/johanna_jahnke/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@johanna_jahnk</a>e) teilnehmen wird, die in diesen Tagen auf einem „<a href="https://portus-cycles.de/grav-karl/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">GravKar</a>l Trail“ mit ihrem Mann Timo (<a href="https://www.instagram.com/benubags/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@benubags</a>) den Schwarzwald von Nord nach Süd Kettenreaktion – das sind zwei Marcs, die einen etwas anderen Ansatz beim Rahmenbau verfolgen als fast alle anderen, die ich kenne. Aber dazu mehr im Gespräch. Damals waren wir gerade 18 und sind öfters zusammen Biken gewesen. Mit der Zeit haben wir uns wesentlich seltener gesehen. Marc Schneider hat Maschinenbau studiert und ich (Marc Gölz) war MTB-Profi im Team T-Mobile und bin um die Welt getingelt. Wir haben aber nie den Kontakt verloren und gegen 2010 wurde dann die Idee geboren selbst ein Stahlrad zu löten. Warum wir diese Idee hatten kann ich gar nicht mehr sagen. Wir fanden beide Stahl als Werkstoff spannend und konnten uns vorstellen, dass durch die neuen Techniken in der Rohrproduktion einiges besser geworden ist. Ein enormer Vorteil für uns ist, das Marc Schneider Maschinenbauingenieur ist, mit CAD (<em>Anmerkung: Software zur 3D-Modellierung von Teilen</em>) umgehen kann und so erstmal alles simuliert werden kann. Ich habe einiges an Erfahrung, was das Fahrverhalten angeht und so konnten wir erstmal digital testen, was wir vor hatten.</p><p><strong>Gab es eine Art Erweckungserlebnis?</strong></p><p>Nein, nicht wirklich. die Idee gab es wie gesagt schon lange, nun war sie reif und ist gewachsen.</p><p><strong>Wo habt ihr gelernt, Rahmen zu bauen, wer waren eure Meister?</strong></p><p>Learning by doing! Ich habe vor meiner Kariere als Profi-Mountainbiker eine Ausbildung zum Industriemechaniker gemacht. Dort habe ich die Grundlagen der Metallverarbeitung und unteranderem auch Löten und Schweißen gelernt. Marc Schneider hat das technische Know-How aus dem Maschinenbaustudium. Gemeinsam ergänzen wir uns ziemlich gut.</p><p>Zum Löten selbst gibt es ja nicht so viel neues. Eine alte und bewährte Technik, die man mit Fingerspitzengefühl und Erfahrung umzusetzen sollte. Das ist unserer Meinung nach das, was es braucht um gute und vor allem sichere Rahmen zu bauen: „Erfahrung!“ </p><p>Wir haben Anfangs nur Bleche auf Stoß verlötet, um sie anschließend wieder zu zerreißen und zu schauen wir viel die Naht oder das Blech aushält. Danach bin ich noch 2 Jahre in anderen Teams am Start gestanden. 2010 gründete ich mein eigenes Unternehmen im Trainings und Gesundheitsbereich. Leistungsorientiert Rad zu fahren habe ich mit 14 Jahren begonnen.</p><p>Marc Schneider übernahm 2012 sein Unternehmen und ist heute noch in der zerspanenden Fertigung erfolgreich. Die Sitzposition, die Fahreigenschaften, die Reifenbreiten die möglich sind, die Anzahl der Anschraubmöglichkeiten für Flaschen und Taschen etc. Ebenfalls ist die Farbe ein wichtiges Thema. Wir lackieren das Bike nach Kundenwunsch. Ausfallenden, Schaltaugen, Tretlagergehäuse sowie einige Anbauteile wie der Vorbau kommen aus unserer eigenen Feder. Die Rohre beziehen wir von Columbus in Italien. Die Schaltgruppe von Campa kommt ebenfalls zum Großteil aus Italien. Laufräder, Lenker uns Sattelstütze von Beast aus Dresden, den Sattel und die Klamotten beziehen wir von EVERVE, einer Manufaktur in Albstadt, die Ihre Teile ebenfalls selbst produzieren. Alles in allem ist unser Rad ziemlich regional. Bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten für die wir noch keine deutsche alternative gefunden haben. Das ist extrem präzise. Beide Verfahren haben Vor- und Nachteile. Für uns überwiegen die Vorteile des Hartlötens beim Gravel Bike und beim Rennrad. Für das MTB und das Fully sind wir uns noch nicht so sicher welche Verbindung die bessere ist. Das werden wir testen. </p><p><strong>Welcher ist euer Lieblingsrohrsatz und welche anderen Rohre verwendet ihr für eure Rahmen am liebsten?</strong></p><p>im Moment nutzen wir den Life Rohrsatz von Columbus. Der hat super Eigenschaften, ist ein bisschen zäh zum bearbeiten, fährt sich aber extrem gut und ist sehr leicht.</p><p>Noch besser finde ich nur den XCR Rohrsatz, ebenfalls von Columbus. Der ist einiges teurer, aber noch leichter.</p><p><strong>Wie sieht der typische Kaufprozess bei euch aus? Wie kommt jemand zu seinem Rahmen von euch?</strong></p><ol><li>Erstmal lernen wir uns kennen. Wir finden heraus, was sich der Biker tatsächlich von seinem neuen Bike wünscht. Bei Bedarf bekommt der Biker ein Fitting. Da haben wir einen Partner an der Hand, der darin ein absoluter Profi ist. Mit dieser Grundlage gehen wir sicher, dass das Rad nachher wirklich passt, bequem ist und seinem Fahrer viel Freude bereitet.</li></ol><ol start="2"><li>Dann geht es in die Konstruktion und die Geometrie wird dem Fitting-Ergebnis angepasst.</li></ol><ol start="3"><li>Der nächste Schritt ist die Produktion.</li></ol><ol start="4"><li>Spätestens jetzt sollte der neue Besitzer des Bikes wissen, welche Farbe und welches Muster, welche Schriftzüge und Co. er gerne auf seinem Bike verewigt haben möchte.</li></ol><ol start="5"><li>Dann kommt der Aufbau, Sattel und Lenkerposition einstellen und los.</li></ol><ol start="6"><li>Die Übergabe wird natürlich gefeiert. Dafür haben wir einiges an Zeit und Gedanken benötigt. Das Spannen der dünnwandigen Rohre hat auch nicht auf`s erste geklappt. Jetzt sind es eher Kleinigkeiten, wier innenverlegte Züge oder konische Steuerrohre die wir einbauen. Jedoch war es letztlich der etwas nischigie Sport Bikepolo, der die Rahmen von Krömer Frames zu dem gemacht hat, was sie heute sind – ultra robuste und hoch funktionale Schönheiten. Auch wenn heute das Radfahren abseits befestigter Straßen zu der größten Leidenschaft von Eduard Krömer zählt und er beim Graveln immer weiter an Geometrien feilt, war es doch diese raue Sportart, die in der Haltbarkeit die beste Ökobilanz aufweist, als auch das Löten, das wir als schonendes Fügeverfahren gewählt habe, tragen dazu bei, dass die Rahmen eine möglichst lange Nutzungsdauer einen Fahrradrahmen schneller und günstiger produzieren, aber Eduard ist überzeugt, dass nur in einem echten Krömer Rahmen soviel Präzision, Leidenschaft und Handwerkskunst steckt, dass er zum Fahren Damit bedient Speedvagen die Lücke zwischen Gravel Bikes und MTBs, indem sie das ansonsten klassisch anmutende Gravel Bikes mit einer Federgabel ausstatten</p><p>Dieses Fahrrad ist für diese Tage ohne Pläne. Pedale. Der Rahmen ist aus dem leichtesten Rohrsatz von Columbus, dem Spirit, gefertigt. Bei der Auswahl der Anbauteile war das Ziel von jeder deutschen Leichtbaufirma einen Teil einzubeziehen. Im Angebot waren Camo, Urban Camo, Team Fade und Sunset Fade.</p><p><a href="https://eu.ritcheylogic.com/eu_en/outback-frameset?goal=0_24c4176ed1-d592b536b8-227420642" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sunset Fade</a> erwies sich als Fan-Favorit. Die sanfte Abstufung von Sonnengelb zu sattem Orange-Ocker zeugt von langen Sommerfahrten, gefolgt von kalten Getränken und High-Fives. Welcher Rahmen wäre besser geeignet für diese Lackierung als das allseits beliebte Outback.</p><p>Mit einem Preis von 1599 € sind die Rahmensets nicht ganz günstig, aber noch erschwinglich.
