  258. <p>Iman Mersal ist die Autorin mehrerer Gedichtbände, darunter &#8222;The Threshold&#8220;, übersetzt von Robyn Creswell, das Gedichte aus ihren ersten vier Gedichtbänden versammelt. Sie ist auch die Autorin der Essaysammlung &#8222;How to Mend: Motherhood and Its Ghosts&#8220; und des Prosawerks &#8222;Traces of Enayat&#8220;, das 2021 mit dem Sheikh Zayed Book Award for Literature ausgezeichnet wurde. Sie wurde in Mit Adlaw, einem kleinen Dorf im nördlichen Nildelta in Ägypten, geboren und ist Professorin für arabische Sprache und Literatur an der University of Alberta, Kanada.</p>

  292. Derselbe Gedanke kommt in jedem der Buchstaben zum Ausdruck, die der Künstler Tom Joyce (*1956) aus Stahlteilen des World Trade Centers geschmiedet hat.</p>
  293. <p>Ursprünglich als Schmied ausgebildet, wurde Joyce eingeladen, sich den Transformationsprozess zunutze zu machen, der entsteht, wenn Eisen mit Feuer in Berührung kommt. Er nahm schwer beschädigten, übrig gebliebenen Stahl und schmiedete ihn durch Erhitzen und Falten zu Buchstaben der Hoffnung und Schönheit.<br />
  294. Das Ergebnis erinnert uns daran, dass Virgils Worte nicht nur eine Aussage sind, sondern ein Versprechen.</p>
