Christian devotions in the Daily-Message

The Bible, the newsflash service

“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.”

Matthew 6:7

Today's world is flooded with news broadcasts – good ones and bad ones. Therefore I sometimes find newsflashes which sum up the necessary vital facts in a few words most practical. If its not sufficient, one just follows a link for a more detailed report.

In the Bible we also find a lot of newsflashes. A lot of these can be found in daily problem-solving. The biggest part of our Gospel can be summarized in a few short sentences. Sometimes, a lot of words are unnecessary. And still, we have the opportunity to read a few hundred pages if one scripture doesn't suffice.

I once compiled a short selection of this newsflash:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.” 1 Peter 3:9

“My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” Luke 1:46-47

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” Luke 15:10

“And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:14

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12

“And Jesus said unto them, ''I am the bread of life: he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst.'' John 6:35

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16

“Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life.” John 6:68

“He which testifieth these things saith, ''Surely I come quickly.'' Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:20

I actually don't need to add anything to this – our Bible speaks for itself!

Have a blessed day with the Word of our Lord
