Tom Gregory veröffentlicht sein Debütalbum “Heaven in a world so cold”

Am 18.09. 2020 veröffentlicht Tom Gregory nun sein langerwertetes Debütalbum HEAVEN IN A WORLD SO COLD. Organisch, urban, ausdrucksstark. Nicht am Reißbrett entstanden, sondern in seinem tiefsten Inneren kreiert. Ehrlich und authentisch. Eine Platte mit 12 Songs sowie einem Bonustrack, die Geschichten aus Toms Leben erzählen. Geschichten über seine Erfahrungen in zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen. Über seine Liebe zu Gitarren (FINGERTIPS) und der Angst vorm älter werden. „ I was going through a period in my early 20’s where I was really scared about the idea of getting old and having responsibilities. I really wanted to put that idea into a song and how actually growing up can really suck sometimes! I’ve now though happily embraced that I’m getting older..!“ (GROW UP)

In BY YOUR SIDE erzählt Tom davon wie es ist in Blackpool aufzuwachsen. “I grew up in a really small town on the northern coast of England, and this track really pays tribute to how I grew up, met my first love there, and went through the roller coaster of emotions that comes with being a teen. Its actually one of the first songs that I wrote for this album and one I’m really proud of!.”

Mit SINK OR SWIM öffnet Tom das bisher dunkelste Kapitel seines jungen Lebens. “This track I think is probably the most honest on the whole album. I went through a really tough break up at the start of 2020, which left me very lost and confused. Someone leaving you behind can be one of the most painful things you ever experience! This song pretty much wrote itself.“

Sein Talent liegt nicht nur in seiner unverwechselbaren Stimme, sondern auch darin seine Zuhörer in kürzester Zeit in seinen Bann zu ziehen.

Geboren und aufgewachsen ist Tom Gregory (10.11.1995) mit seinen zwei Geschwistern im Norden Englands. Blackpool ist ein kleines Fischerdorf ohne viel Glamour. Aber seine musikalische Heimat ist Deutschland. Das kommt einem doch irgendwie bekannt vor. 60 Jahren nachdem The Beatles von Hamburg aus ihre Weltkarriere starteten, folgt auch Tom den Spuren dieser musikalischen Legenden. Und seine Ansprüche an sich selbst sind groß. „Ich hatte immer Angst davor einen Job zu machen, den ich hasse. Ich war nie besorgt zu scheitern.“

Der junge Brite möchte nicht in eine Schublade gesteckt werden. Glatt Gebügelter Pop und Belanglosigkeit sprechen ihm nicht aus der Seele – und seine Stimme trifft die Menschen genau dort – in der Seele. Werte wie diese wurden ihm früh vermittelt: „Ich habe viel Gitarrenmusik gehört und wurde außerdem sehr von meinem Vater inspiriert. Er hat mir Bands wie Kool & The Gang und James Taylor nahegebracht. Ich habe mich wenig für moderne Musik interessiert und lieber solche Bands gehört, während meine Freunde Acts wie Eminem gefeiert haben“.

Tom ist echt. What you see, is what you get. Was zählt, ist die Musik und das Gefühl, das in der heutigen Zeit leider viel zu oft auf der Strecke bleibt. Er hat keine Angst vor dem Scheitern. Er folgt seiner Vision. Ehrlich und authentisch ohne aufgesetzten Glamour.

Zeitgleich zum Album Release erscheint auch seine neue Single WHAT LOVE IS. „I really wanted to capture a classic love song and strip everything back. I actually think this turned out to be one of the most beautiful on the record. It was a really nice change for me to strip everything back and take away a lot of the big productions that run through the whole album.“

Im Februar 2021 geht Tom erstmalig auf Headline Tour durch Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz.
