Microsoft hat im Rahmen des heutigen Patchday für November 2018 ein Sicherheitsupdate für Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1 und Windows Server 2012 R2 veröffentlicht. Das Update Rollup KB4457143 enthält Verbesserungen und Korrekturen, die Teil des Updates KB4462921 vom 18. Oktober 2018 waren und behebt ein Problem, das zu einer hohen CPU-Auslastung führt, was bei einigen Systemen mit AMD-Prozessoren der Produktfamilie 15h und 16h zu Leistungseinbußen führt. Dieses Problem tritt nach der Installation der Windows-Updates von Microsoft im Juli 2018 und der AMD-Microcode-Updates auf, die sich auf Specter Variant 2 beziehen. Dazu kommen Sicherheitsupdates für Windows App Platform und Frameworks, Windows-Grafik, Internet Explorer, Windows Wireless Networking, Windows Kernel und Windows Server. Für kumulative Windows Updates muss das neueste Servicing Stack Update vor dem neuesten Rollup installiert werden. Dadurch wird das Risiko potenzieller Probleme beim Installieren des Rollups reduziert. Das Sicherheitsupdate für Windows RT 8.1 ist nur über Windows Update verfügbar.
