Why did God have to be Jesus?

“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is He of whom I said, After me cometh a Man which is preferred before me: for He was before me. And I knew Him not: but that He should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon Him. And I knew Him not: but He that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, the same is He which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.”

John 1:29-34

We cannot be saved without faith in the Lamb of God. This is the Biblical testimony. Jesus Christ is the focal point of Salvation! There are believers, who don't believe in this and believe that Jesus is only a created being (Jehovah's Witnesses) or a prophet (Islam) or a religious fanatic who was idolized by His followers. However, when one reads and understands the Bible, one is unable to reach the conclusion that Jesus Christ is either a created being or a fraud – this is completely erroneous and historically impossible when one understands the connections and takes the Bible seriously. Whomever does not honour the Son in the same manner as he honours the Father, honours neither Son nor Father (John 5:23). Without Jesus no God and visa versa! Life itself belongs to God alone - John 1:1-4 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the Light of men.” If Jesus was not God then life itself could not be in the Son of God, but could only be imparted as with a created being such as an angel, a human being or an animal. But we are told the exact opposite in John 5:26 “For as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself” For this very reason Jesus was, in His time, criticised and eventually judged by the Jews, because He made Himself equal to God – nothing less (John 5:18). In John 1:11-14 we read the following very clear truth: “He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” Even if one, as a human, can't completely comprehend this, it becomes clear that God reconciled Himself with Himself. And that each of us can become a new person, not through human will, but only through the new birth from above, is founded upon this fact.

We read this in 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 “ Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” This was God's will and His purpose. And when Jesus said upon the cross, that it is finished (John 19:30), the most inconceivable and wonderful occurrence of all time transpired. Someone who becomes an enemy of this truth, is for example someone who, through an antichrist spirit, denies that Jesus came in the flesh (1 John 4:2-3). In other words claims that God didn't really become a man and Jesus Christ was only an invention of God although God didn't actually unite Himself with Jesus. Do not believe this – God became a complete human – Colossians 2:9-10 “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power” Who are we, to prescribe to God who He is to be or not? The Bible is God's Word, but whoever does not comprehend this through the Holy Spirit, becomes a criminal with a religious opinion which he takes ownership of and argues in an intellectual or theological manner. However, the Scripture which applies here is found in 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.” Theology can feel like a heavy rock in our stomachs, however the Holy Spirit even gives life to rocks when He wants to (Matthew 3:9). Why then, did God have to become Jesus? Because it reveals the Holy Spirit of God (and the Scriptures) and because God wanted this so. God is the Alpha and the Omega and HE was dead and rose again – Who other than Jesus Christ (the Lamb of God) could be meant with this statement (Revelation 1:14-18). Amen – this literally means: So it is!
