Ludovic Amouroux, Marketing & Communications Manager at GAMEVIL COM2US Europe

#EmployeeExperience, again: 36 years old Ludovic Amouroux holds the position of Marketing & Communications Manager at GAMEVIL COM2US Europe. As an absolute newbie in the company, only having entered in December, his first weeks‘ impressions couldn’t be fresher. He gives us an insight, of how he has been welcomed and supported at the start and what a Marketing & Communications Manager’s duties are.

Games-Career.com: Please, introduce yourself shortly and tell us which department you are working in.

Ludovic: My name is Ludovic Amouroux, I’m 36 years old and I hold the position of Marketing & Communications Manager at the GAMEVIL COM2US European office.

Games-Career.com: Since when have you been working with GAMEVIL COM2US and how can your position be described?

Ludovic: I’ve joined the company in December 2017 and my main role is to manage the lifecycle of our games portfolio in Europe from a Marketing perspective. In a few details, the M&C manager needs to build his/her knowledge about all the games to identify USP (unique selling points), formulating them in easy to understand / appealing messages / forms and make sure they reach the right audience the right way. Concretely, the M&C manager is the conductor of the PR, media and events plans.

Games-Career.com: How and what were your first week’s experiences at GAMEVIL COM2US?

Ludovic: I’ve arrived at the perfect moment when the team was less busy than usual, which gave me plenty of time to know the people with whom I will collaborate and to follow all the processes to be quickly efficient. It was also the best time to discuss plans for the upcoming year with the Head of Marketing, Chinh.

Games-Career.com: How have you been supported with onboarding at GAMEVIL COM2US?

Ludovic: From my perspective, two things are very important when you’ve just joined a company: the way people integrate newcomers and goal’s clarity from your management.
So I couldn’t be in a better position as I was welcomed the best possible way by everyone and after only a month in the company I already have the feeling I’ve been a member of the team for months, and I know exactly what are the challenges I need to address.

Games-Career.com: What do you particularly like about your new position?

Ludovic: The people: I have never seen people more passionate about company’s games. This is very beneficial in many aspects: the people in the company are the same people who are playing the games, which means plans we are building will always talk to our audience. Last but not least, it creates a very positive atmosphere where people are sharing their own experience and their best practices with others.

Games-Career.com: How did you get to your current position and which career steps have you taken so far?

Ludovic: I’ve studied Marketing Management in a French Business School and as I was very passionate about gaming since my childhood. Therefore, it made total sense to me to focus my search for an internship at this time on video game companies. That’s how I was considered for a training at Ubisoft in the customer service and then in the Direct Marketing EU department. After my studies and until I joined GAMEVIL COM2US, I have worked for very exciting companies such as Sony (PlayStation), Nintendo, Activision and Blizzard.

Games-Career.com: Do you have any advice you would like to impart to potential applicants?

Ludovic: The best two advices I can give to potential applicants for a position at GAMEVIL COM2US are: show us your interest in video games and take the time to investigate as much as possible about our company and our games.

Games-Career.com: Since your career entry has been accomplished, which further plans concerning your occupational advancement at GAMEVIL COM2US do you have?

Ludovic: It is too soon to talk about the future, as there is a lot of exciting plans to activate in the coming months to keep me busy and to enjoy. My goal is to explore the mobile gaming world and I have the feeling I’m working for one of the most passionate companies – and this is very inspiring.

Off you go, exploring! Good Luck for you, Ludovic, and thank you for sharing your experiences with us.
