Throw it in the bin

On Monday the trash gets emptied by us. A reason to take a last trip to the bins outside on a sunday evening, regardless of whether the inside bin is full or not. What is gone, is gone and doesn't take up unnecessary space next week.

In this manner, those things we don't need any more, those things which bother us, which are old and used, everything no longer of use to us, all the clutter, finds its way to the trash. And once a week it gets collected and taken to the depot or gets burnt in the rubbish heaps.

In my life there are also many things which disturb me, are old and used, is a burden or hinders me. Yet, a lot of it is not so easy to let go of. I still cling to many things, and many things simply still cling to me, then there are other things which I don't really know what to do with.

Thus, it is good, when we read in Peter's letter: “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.”

With Jesus I can get rid of it all. I can give it all to Him and I don't have to wait until the next Sunday. With His death on the cross of Golgotha, He took all our sins and cares upon Himself. I only need to bring it to the cross. All that clutter, which I drag with me from my past and also that which I still face in the future. For all of it He died on the cross for me and for you.

What is there in your life that you would like to finally be rid of? What depresses and burdens you? Lay it at Jesus' feet, before the cross, and He will carry it for you.
