Link ist nicht sehr maskulin
In einem Interview erklärte The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Director Hiromasa Shikata, warum die Spieler keinen weiblichen Charakter wählen können. "The story calls for this sort of legend/prophecy where heroes will come together to help solve a problem", sagte er gegenüber IGN. "And in that, they are male characters. So, because the game is set with that as the story background, you cannot choose a gender; you are a male character."
Auf Nachfrage führte Hiromasa weiter aus: "We do have a lot of female staff members who are playing this game and enjoying it. It doesn't seem to be a big issue to them... And to be honest, Link isn't the most masculine of guys in the world, depending on how you want to project yourself into the character."
Also da haben Sie es. Eine Prophezeiung – geschrieben von Nintendo – schreibt vor, dass Sie ein männlicher Charakter sein müssen, und das ist völlig in Ordnung, weil es Mitarbeiterinnen gefällt. Außerdem ist Link ohnehin schon verweichlicht und unmännlich.
Eine seltsame Antwort, wenn man bedenkt, dass man als Link ein Zelda-Kleid tragen kann. Nintendo scheint also nichts Crossdressing zu haben, aber erlaubt uns nicht, als weiblicher Link zu spielen? Seltsam.
